Zanaflex® is a muscle relaxant. Zanaflex is used to
treat muscle spasms and increased muscle tone associated
with spasticity. It works by blocking nerve impulses.

Use as directed. Initially, the dosage will probably need to be adjusted
by your doctor to achieve satisfactory results. (Follow directions
precisely.)
The side effects associated with Zanaflex include the following medical
conditions: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, unusual weakness
or dry mouth might occur. If the adverse symptoms become bothersome,
notify your doctor. Do avoid dizziness, stand up slowly when rising
from a sitting or lying position. Notify your physician if you experience
the following: any signs of vision or hearing changes, urinary frequency
or burning, slow or irregular heartbeat, black stool, rash, itching,
dizziness, trouble breathing. If any other side effects that are not
listed above, notify your physician or pharmacist.
Prior to taking Zanaflex, tell your doctor if you have any of the
following medical conditions: any allergies, low blood pressure, liver
or heart disease, kidney disease, eye disease. Minimize alcohol consumption
as it might intensify the dizziness and drowsiness effects of Zanaflex.
Use caution when driving or operating machinery or when alertness
is required. Zanaflex should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding,
consult your physician about the associated risks. Discuss the risks
and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether Zanaflex is
excreted into human milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
In the elderly, caution is advised.
If there is an overdose of Zanaflex, emergency room immediately. Symptoms
of overdose may include trouble breathing or unconsciousness. Your
doctor may monitor liver tests during treatment. Never share Zanaflex
with others with whom it is not prescribed.
For missed doses of Zanaflex, take immediately. If it is near the
time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume the regular
dosing schedule. Never double the doses to catch up.
Store Zanaflex at room temperature away from light, heat and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
